Hi, I'm Lori.
I began my career in the field of education and realized that I might be able to be more helpful to children outside the confines of school, particularly when family issues impact kids (and adults) greatly. My first degree was in special education and then I went on to obtain my master's in social work. I have worked in many varied settings, from classrooms to group homes, to non-profit organizations. My work here at CalmWaters is a culmination of all those experiences and it is work that I truly love.
My approach is one of collaboration and is person-centered. I am also trained in EMDR and have done extensive grief counseling. I offer a warm, welcoming and validating environment and I like to meet people where they are. We all face struggles on this journey of life, and I firmly believe that change is possible for anyone and everyone, if one is willing to do the hard work. I have a strong faith and I am not uncomfortable exploring matters of faith with clients. I see children ages 5 and above, and adults of any age.
